A big welcome from us at Fernfield! We'd love to have you out to visit our little cellar door in Eden Valley.

As we are a boutique producer it's the only place you can try our range of small batch wines.

Opening hours: Fri, Sat, Sun & Mon 11-4pm     Enquiries: 0422 296221, [email protected]

Our unique cellar door is housed in our beautiful stone cottage, built in 1856 by settler William Lillecrapp in a serene little valley.

The cottage is cosy and warm with the fire burning in winter, and in summer the thick stone walls make it a welcome cool escape from the summer heat.

We offer a range of boutique wine experiences from Artisan chocolate made onsite, to Barossan coffee to guided tastings from the winemaker of wine range, including our classic Eden Valley Riesling and fruit forward reds.

We're open 11am-4pm on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, just one kilometre from the Eden Valley main-street. Feel free to drop in and say g'day and try some wine or book one our boutique wine experiences.

Meet the owners, vignerons and winemakers, Scott & Bec while relaxing in Eden Valley's first homestead, a quaint stone cottage from 1856. Take in the peaceful serenity of the valley while asking anything and everything wine.

Our address:

      Fernfield Cellar Door

      112 Rushlea Road

      Eden Valley

      South Australia 5235

Eden Valley is less than 15 minutes south of Angaston and 15 minutes north of Mt Pleasant. To reach our cellar door, turn east at the Eden Valley Hotel onto Rushlea Road. Follow the road for just over a kilometre, and you can't miss us!

Parents visiting us at Fernfield can relax, knowing our cellar door is child-friendly. As well a substantial lawn to run around and play games on, we have a toy-box, stocked with wooden toys to entertain kids on a rainy day.

And for those kids who like dogs, we can call over our two friendly Border Collies, Dexter and Bandit, who are more than happy to play all day long!

Eden Valley is renowned as the premium sub-region of the Barossa, known for world-class Rieslings, and elegant reds.

The high elevation (around 200m above the Barossa), provides higher rainfall and lower temperatures, and the unique terrain of hills-sides of sandy loams over granite results in the ideal conditions for grapevine root growth and drainage.

Despite the large range of wines produced from grapes in the region, there are not many wineries, and even fewer cellar doors. Four cellar doors operate within the region: Ourselves,  Fernfield Wines, Henshcke in Keyneton, and Edenmae & Peter Seppelt Wines in Springton. And the great thing is we're all family owned and operated!

More information on our town's history and local attractions can be found on the Eden Valley Tourism website.

Many people find they want to visit Eden Valley, but because we're not as well known as the Barossa, they find it difficult to plan a visit. So we've put together a few suggested itineraries for planning your trip to our premier wine region.

Please note these suggested itineraries are based on the opening times at the time of writing, please check before you travel that your intended experiences will be open. Our suggestions on this page are purely recommendations based on our own personal experiences, we have no business affiliation with any of the suggested attractions

10:00 Start at the Barossa Farmers Market (cnr Nuriootpa and Stockwell Roads, Angaston) and explore some of our local produce

Saturday: as per Day Trip

Stay overnight at the 1860s Cottage just next door to Peter Seppelt, or the Eden Valley Campground.
